Cambodia to Launch the National Research Center on AI for Education

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – November 24, 2025 – The National Research Center on AI for Education was officially inaugurated during the AI for Education National Conference 2025. The Inauguration Ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), and His Excellency Dr. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC). The establishment of the Center was led by the Rector Council of Cambodia (RCC), in cooperation with the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), and supported by MoEYS and MPTC. The launch was celebrated during the national conference, which gathered approximately 300 key participants, including policymakers, educators, researchers, government officials, and development partners.

The AI for Education Research Center is poised to become a Center of Excellence, playing a crucial role in contributing to the development of policies and strategies, as well as undertaking research and development of AI technology programs, tools, and education solutions. The new Research Center will become a vital resource, contributing to the advancement of pedagogy and enhancing educational quality.

The center will focus on developing tools for Personalized Learning to support students with different learning speeds and levels, and AI-assisted Assessment to reduce the administrative burden and workload of teachers.
