On January 28, 2026, at the University of Health Sciences (UHS), a significant milestone was reached as the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) and University of Health Sciences (UHS) officially signed a collaboration agreement focused on “Applied Research and Development on Artificial Intelligence in Health.” The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dr. Seng Sopheap, President of CADT alongside H.E. Professor Saphorn Vathanak, Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Rector of UHS. This strategic agreement aims to establish a joint research team dedicated to leveraging Artificial Intelligence to tackle pressing public health challenges. Over the course of this three-year cooperation, both institutions will share resources and facilities while actively seeking external funding to support high-impact research initiatives.
Under this partnership, CADT will contribute its specialized expertise in digital technology, data science, and advanced computing infrastructure to develop sophisticated AI models. Conversely, UHS will provide vital medical knowledge and ensure access to ethically managed health data necessary for the research.
Both organizations also discussed expanding their collaboration to include the Cambodia AMR Predicting Application (CAMPRA), the development of Virtual Reality scenarios for medical training, and the creation of a specialized curriculum titled “The Use of AI for Health.” This initiative represents a major leap in digital innovation within Cambodia, aiming to enhance research capabilities and improve the overall quality of public health services through the application of modern technology.
