Phnom Penh, June 29, 2022, the Table Tennis Team of the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology won the first prize and took the gold medal in the Cambodia Table Tennis Competition 2022, held at the Cambodia Table Tennis Federation (CTTF).
The tournament was held at the Cambodia Table Tennis Federation which resides inside Morodok National Stadium, CADT Team has successfully taken their first victory and became a gold medal among others. Additionally, CADT also took part in the Men’s Singles, receiving 3rd place and a bronze medal which is deemed impressive as well.
The CADT table tennis team behind the success comprised Tie Hokly (Gold), Vicheanon Norakpichit (Gold, Bronze), Kong Manith (Gold), Khim Davin (Gold), and Ea Porkheang (Gold).
H.E Hean Samboeun, Vice-president of the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology expressed his appreciation and was delighted that the students have accomplished such an amazing feat in both their academics and sport. “ Recently, CADT team has just taken home a gold medal in robot competition and now also conquer in the sports sector as well. As an educator, this is a positive sight that we all wish to see and work hard to continually support them, “ he said.
Table Tennis is a racquet sport dubbed as the world’s best brain sport” because it is highly aerobic, uses both the upper and lower body, and is great for eye-hand coordination and reflexes. Although CADT is a specialized academy focusing on digital technology skills and pushing students to reach their best potential, the school also encourages them to be active sports players.
Cambodia Table Tennis has seen a raising in popularity and has the potential to win the gold medal in the upcoming 2023 SEA Games.
