Phnom Penh, 31st March 2023, The Career Center was officially opened in a grand ceremony with a ribbon-cutting ceremony from H.E Khov Makara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. He said that the Career Center is a very important step in driving forward Cambodia’s economic development. He said it will be the platform to connect the core skills of the youth and the needs of the private sector, providing jobs and training to the youth.
Ms. Alyssa Moy, Education Officer of the Office of Public Health and Education, USAID also shared her thoughts on the Job Center. She said that it will be a huge benefit to the youth of Cambodia and that the Job Center could be the catalyst for change in the job market. She said that the Job Center will give young people opportunities to gain the skills and knowledge to be successful in the job market.
The Career Center is a collaboration between Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology, and USAID in partnership with the University of California, Berkeley, and will provide students with job listings, career advice, and training. It will also provide employers with a platform to find and hire the best talent from the students. The Career Center will also be the place to foster collaboration between universities and companies. It will be used to develop joint projects and internships and to invite enterprise experts to provide technical training to students.
After the ceremony, the guests were taken on a tour of the Innovation Building, which is equipped with modern facilities and laboratories to support research and teaching activities.
The Career Center is the first of its kind in Cambodia and will provide students with a unique opportunity to access information and resources to help them pursue their career goals. It is a major milestone in the development of the digital space in Cambodia and will serve to bridge the gap between employers and potential employees.
